James Dawson Sather, 56, was an intellectual giant, dedicated naturalist, and an incredibly loving father.
Dawson was born in Madisonville, Kentucky in 1956. Raised by Gordon and Margarette Sather, he attended Christian Brothers University and Mars Hill College, finishing his education with a Masters degree in Biology at UNC Chapel Hill. He was a lifelong learner and teacher, in North Carolina and later when he moved to Oklahoma City.
On the side, Dawson was a member of Mensa and read voraciously. He played trivia weekly and loved to garden.
Dawson passed away on December 9th in Oklahoma City. He is survived by Dylan J. Sather, his son, G. Randle Sather, his brother, and Gordon Sather, his father.
